Who's looking after your roof?

The Crew That Put On Your Roof Might Not Be Around for the Leak

It happens more than you'd think around here. A crew puts on a roof, and a couple of years later their number is disconnected. Then a pipe boot cracks or a storm backs a few screws out, and there's nobody to call.

  • Florida sun cooks the sealant on pipe boots.
  • Storms back screws out and loosen shingles.
  • A roof past its 15th year rarely announces a leak before the ceiling stain shows up.

Reed Roofing has answered the phone on Baya Drive since 1973. The maintenance program keeps one local family watching your roof, year after year.

Three Plans, All Under $50 a Month

The only roof maintenance program in our area. Every plan carries the Reed Roofing name and includes at least one inspection a year. From there, it's a question of how much repair coverage you want riding along.

Reed Roofing Essential

$29/month

One inspection a year with the small stuff sealed up. For plenty of roofs, that's the whole job.

  • 1 annual roof inspection
  • Basic maintenance: pipe boots resealed, popped screws fixed
  • Standard scheduling

Reed Roofing Preferred

$39/month

Roofs past 15 years

Twice the inspections, with minor repairs included. A fit for roofs past the 15-year mark.

  • Up to 2 roof inspections per year
  • Minor repairs included, up to 5 shingles replaced per year
  • Priority scheduling

Reed Roofing Premium

$49/month

Everything on the list below, including the written photo report worth keeping on file.

  • 2 roof inspections per year
  • Written roof report with photos
  • Extended minor repair coverage
  • Light debris removal on ladder-accessible areas
  • Priority service
  • 10-15% discount on repairs

What plans do not cover: no plan covers deck repair, wood rot, or structural work. If an inspection turns one of those up, you'll get a straight answer and a written estimate.

An Annual Roof Inspection Beats a $20,000 Surprise

A roof inspection in Lake City runs $150 to $175 on its own. Reed Roofing Essential costs $29 a month and includes your annual roof inspection plus basic upkeep.

The other path is the expensive one: skip the inspections, let a cracked boot drip into the attic for two summers, and pay for the $20,000 surprise. We'd rather fix the boot.

Don Reed, founder

Don Reed hung the sign in 1973. His daughter Leslie holds the contractor's license today, and her husband Paul, a state-licensed roofing contractor and former Alachua County firefighter, heads the roofing crews.

Paul has led Reed Roofing since 2014 and oversees every roofing job himself: the estimates, the crews, the vendors. Call the office on Baya Drive and you're dealing with the family whose name is on the sign, not a call center.

Questions About the Program

What is the Reed Roofing maintenance program?

It's the only program of its kind in our area: three monthly plans under the Reed Roofing name that cover roof inspections, minor repairs like resealing boots and replacing blown-off shingles, priority scheduling, and a repair discount at the top tier. The job of the program is to keep small problems from becoming roof replacements.

My roofer went out of business. Can you still take care of my roof?

Yes. If your roofer is no longer around, the maintenance program might be a good fit for you. And if your roof needs work before a plan makes sense, start with a repair and enroll once it's sound.

What don't the plans cover?

Deck repair, wood rot, and structural work sit outside every tier, along with anything beyond minor repair scope. When an inspection finds one of those problems, you get a straight answer and a written estimate, and you decide from there.

Who will actually be on my roof?

Paul McDaniel oversees every roofing job: estimates, crews, and vendors. He's a state-licensed roofing contractor and has led Reed Roofing since 2014. You're dealing with the family whose name is on the sign, not a call center.

Where do you work?

From the Baya Drive office in Lake City, we cover Columbia, Suwannee, Hamilton, Lafayette, Union, Baker, Gilchrist and Alachua counties.
